My wifes best friend is Liams first cousin! That there is a tenacious link to celebity"ness" but he's a real nice guy. Shame about the wife.

Does your wife know mine? As he is cousin on my wifes fathers side of family, don't think quite 1st cousin. Wish knew sooner would have sent invite to wedding. 🙂

No. I'm sticking with tenacious. There's few things I'm clingy about but this is one!

Funnily I was saying to the wife earlier that he makes crap films these days. With the exception of Schindlers List, it's all been down hill from Darkman.

FILM: Taken

Liam Neeson stars as a former CIA operative desperate to track down his kidnapped daughter in Pierre Morel's Luc Besson-produced action thriller. Bryan Mills's life hasn't panned out well: his dedication to the CIA wrecked his marriage and relationship with daughter Kim. Now retired from the Agency he wants to make amends with Kim. But in order to do so, he has to contend with ex-wife Lenore's animosity and Kim's new stepdad's wealth. Bryan wins favour from his daughter by giving his blessing to a European trip accompanied by a friend. But once in Paris the two girls are kidnapped by vicious Eastern European sex traffickers. As the pair are abducted, Bryan warns his daughter's captors, via mobile: 'I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you'. He then does his best to make good on the promise, using all the violent tricks of the trade his time at the CIA taught him.
(Premiere, Widescreen, Subtitles, 2008, 15, 4 Star)

Director: Pierre Morel
Starring: Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Holly Valance, Famke Janssen, Radivoje Bukvic, Leland Orser

Either he gets some shit roles, or he happens to put in some shit performances. With the exception of a couple of films, he is IMO a pretty average performer. Seems to lack versatility, depth, "believeability" etc.

I don't know about that. He'd be pretty believable playing the role of Fidel Castro.

Bare knuckle boxer to Jedi master seems a pretty broad spread. The big man was ace,(if only for seeing Billy Connolly get chibbed.)
