I have always had Samsung TVs but only have £400 to spend on a telly. Looking for 4K UHD. LG have some good options at that price. Any reasons not to hold out for a Samsung?
Nope, nothing wrong with an LG at that price. Obviously worth googling the specific model number for reviews/known issues though
Yup LG are pretty good for the money certainly the one the lead ones in that price bracket.
Been happy with the Linsar TV (not 4k uhd though) we bought recently. 5 year mfr guarantee

although, the local telly shop where I bought mine doesn't seem to do Linsar anymore, but does have this

LG tv's are great, as good as anything else out there.
They made screens for Apple/iPhones for a while (might still do, not sure?)....
We bought a 43" LG 4K TV from Richer Sounds after Chrismtas.
I think it was £750 down to £430 or something like that, although I doubt it retailed at £750 for long.
It's a decent TV; good picture & sound is better than expected from our first flat screen. Smart TV side of it works well, with an intuitive layout.
We've got the Spotify app currently, but it keeps flashing up a warning about support for it ending. It isn't up there for long enough for me to make a note of the 'more info' website that flashes up, but am not sure if this means Spotify through the TV will no longer be possible....
I'll look into it at some point.....
Only niggles are:
- the guide takes a while to come up sometimes, whereas on our Humax box, the guide is instant
- the remote is OK, but they do a magic remote (like a Wii remote) but it only comes with the pricier tvs. You can buy them separately (assuming your TV is compatible) for around £35. We haven't bothered, but I am tempted.
LG owner here for about 5yrs now. Bulletproof on all counts.
A friend is quite high up in the firm and he's always spoken highly of them.
Agree the EPG is slooooow on our 6 month old LG TV compared to on our BT View Humax box. It's our second telly though mostly used for gaming, streaming and Apple TV so no big deal but if it was the main telly then having used the Humax for a few years I'd be a bit narked about the delays loading and the blanking of the TV picture whilst it sorts itself out. I can't get pausing live TV to work using a USB thumb drive neither but again no biggie as we watch telly mainly via the Humax.
For the freeview-ists the BT Humax HD You View recorder boxes are available unopened on fleabay for about 100 quid (people off load them when they sign up for BT packages but they work without). Excellent kit.
The model I was looking at had a freesat built into it so I was going to run it through the dish rather than a conventional arial. I think it has a magic remote. It's on offer at the moment

Own a 43" 4K LG and very happy with it. GOod picture. USe sound through an av amp though and guide is done on virgin box but use the catch up smart apps and work fine.
