Why are modern socks so tight around the top? In the old days the elastic would eventually give for enhanced comfort.
I was expecting more from Brexit , if we want to return to the good old days give me comfy socks.
It's not as if I've been pumping iron to improve the girth of my ankles.
What short , super comfy ones are there out there?

I'm mostly riding in freebee casteli and merida socks right now. For winter I swap to on-one merino thickies.

The merino thinnies are the best so far but aren't too durable.

DeFeet for the bike, Happy Socks off the bike.

In the winter I too move to On-One thicky or thinny Merino.

Well Mrs Ming hasn't pressed the A50 button yet. Rest assured when she does your socks will go baggy.

BAM ones are nice n soft. I don't use them on bike, cos they're a teensy bit too thick.
But wear them all day at work and my feets are happy.

I love my smartwool merino ultra light socks, but boy are they hard to get on, they're so tight round the top I struggle to get them round my heels.
I'll be watching this thread with interest...

I have been using Planet X coolmax socks this summer. They tend to stop up ok.

Costco Merino hiking socks for me on the bike in winter, various brands of cycle socks for summer, On-One thicky for Autumn/Spring.

Off the bike I like Nike Ankle socks - in black.

You ride every day? You've been lifting bro, it's muscle from all that Gnar shredding. (You do shred?)

It's the Chemtrails mate, they make your ankles swell.

So it's not just me.

If I buy socks that fit my feet they are way too tight on the ankle. The end result is I have a collection of brand new socks (worn once) and a small set of almost worn out ancient socks which I wear all the time because the elastic has sagged sufficiently to be comfortable.

I blame the fashionista skinny legged hipster designers for confusing girl socks with mens socks. ๐Ÿ™‚

I find the m&s merino blend socks to be really good.

I think he's got a point. Is all to do with middle-aged (ankle) spread? Too much time with feet almost stationery on the pedal of the A4/Octavia?

....and another thing....joey recommends a sock which apparently fits size 6 to 11.
There's no way on earth they could. The heel will be half way up your calf.

Oh dear lord, I've confused stationary with stationery. I'm resigning from the internet for a bit.
