The news is full of depressing photos and footage of the floods and all their negative effects, but there's got to be some pockets of positivity in and amongst the misery, so share your good pics and videos of the positive side of the floods.

I'll kick off with my dog enjoying a game of fetch in a flooded field (I was on a path that's still above the flood water and not stupid enough to be stood knee deep in it!):

The north (of England) hasn't flooded?

Tell that to the people of blyth, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Whitby...

Have people forgotten December already?

Seriously no good has come of these floods.

the economic activity necessary to repair the damage will boost GDP.

Natural disasters are generally good for the economy.

Drac +1

Also, seeing muslim charities out and about helping people in flood hit areas. When growing up in the 80s the local muslim population seemed very insular, and it is rare to hear the word muslim on TV without an accompanying "jihad" or "terror", so it is great to see groups going out helping all and sundry and breaking down some stereotypes.

Tell that to the people of blyth, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Whitby...

The only part of Middlesbrough that was flooded was Port Clarence and that is better off being under water. In Whitby Trenchers opened re-opened in days, so all is well.

On a different note, I've noticed that the bluebell shoots in the garden are looking extremely healthy. Getting a little excited but not overexcited in case the temperatures drop drastically.

The flood water, laden with mineral-rich silt and organic material will fertilise the fields and farmers will benefit from improved yields and less need for fertiliser for a few years,

Well from what I seen of Blyth and Newcastle I'd happily tell them.

It is a bit damp in and around Newcastle but I haven't seen any floods.

Some handsome new black ducks have arrived, who I'll be feeding from the comfort of my own home shortly.

If the weather keeps up, we'll have Swan next week, who I'll be eating from the comfort of my own home ๐Ÿ˜‰

It's made the warmists look stupid, as it's the exact opposite of what they predicted in November

It's made Milliband look stupid (not difficult) wading around in water too deep for his wellies hoping for a photo op

The weather systems that have brought the rain also brought huge amounts of snow in Scotland. Good skiing conditions.

Bewdley bridge is closed.
It's nice to be able to walk across without having to keep to the narrow pavement while worrying about having your elbow whacked by the mirror of a passing van.

Kayaking on usually fairly uninteresting rivers has been far more entertaining, particular with the strong winds added into the mix.

It's made Eric Pickles look stupid, but I think that's actually an advance on how he normally looks.

To be honest the floods are largely a positive to anybody who doesn't live in a house which floods or have to travel and getting stuck in jams (as I did on Monday) - oh or in charge of the EA response, as my next door neighbour who I just met on Worcester bridge is, he sounded very tired of it and glad to have a day off tomorrow! Lots of people out enjoying themselves in the middle of Worcester the last couple of days. I also appreciated being able to ride in on the roads on my unicycle with virtually no traffic.
