RE The Goonies set - I’m not a minifig/play space guy, so it’s not really for me, but the detail of the sets is quite impressive.

I wondered how long the Enterprise D would take to turn up here. 😁

It’s a bit…low res, isn’t it?  Especially on the underside.

Yeah.  I saw the leak before the official announcement, I thought no way is that an official Lego release.

Honestly, I'm more excited about Lego getting onboard with the Trek franchise generally than I am about this specific model.  I kinda... don't really like it.  I suppose it's an odd shape (and large) to make structurally sound.

Wanted to build this Lancia Stratos for ages. Tried to order it a while ago and it was out of stock. Made from copy of the Lamborghini Sian kit from Turbo Mac and online plans.

Has Gearbox, pedals, proper clamshell. A little bit fragile but fun. May have to work out if I can make some Rally lights for it next.

Endurance was started in dry jan and completed yesterday.  Was a nice build. Some really clever touches. Part of the deck comes away so you can see inside the engine room etc.

The crane isn't quite finished. That's probably about 3 years old. The last one before the App. Pretty complicated build. And absolutely massive.

I don't have any other Lego but the wife bought me this for Christmas a few years ago when we were going through a Seinfeld phase. Sadly, they haven't rocketed in value since so I decided to build it and stick it on a shelf.

It was my first time building a big set with over a thousand pieces. I quite enjoyed it. I don't really have the space for lots of huge Lego displays but I'd love the Goonies one.

Lots of little details to spot for those familiar with the show.

Obviously there's the Klein Pinnacle in the background. Stolen from the set at some point and replaced with a blue Cannondale.

Some good Black Friday Deals available in Argos - Lego Star Wars UCS Venator reduced to £400.  Work Pluxie tax save discount reduces that to £372.  TopCashBack reduces that to £360 and you can get 400 Nectar points.  So, free snacks to eat whilst building.  👍 🍷

Interestingly, I met a couple of guys who work for Lego at a conference this week. They do the structural modelling to ensure the builds are strong enough.

The Jaws set is currently on offer in Argos, I bought it on launch but still haven’t built it as have no where to display it.

Great present from my other half. Loved the Calvin and Hobbes cartoons and this was a fun build. The cart comes off and steers with Calvin's hands.

That Enterprise looks great. I occasionally get tempted by a big set, the last one was the Falcon. This also looks tempting. Would you say the build was as involved and engaging as the Falcon?

Enterprise looks great. Did you add the lighting or is that standard?

I don't think anything is as good as the Falcon as the Falcon has everything - moving parts, interiors and non-symmetry, but this was a good build with a lot of techniques I've not seen before and never would've considered.

The lighting kit was addition.  Normally I'm not bothered, but this kit really did feel like it needed it.  Very faffy to install -200 steps and a partial disassembly.  It also consumes quite a lot of power 12 hours will drain a powerbank which would charge and iPhone and an iPad whilst away.

The photos don't do the lighting kit justice as the photos seem to highlight the lighting elements, but in real like, all you can see is the glow on the nacelles, engines and deflector.

Thats the only Lego set I’d buy, is a normal Lego option?

Hi Somafunk, it's not an official Lego set but the quality seemed pretty good and was't too pricy either at under £30mincluding shipping

Has anyone had any success with 3D printing a wall bracket for any of their Star Wars builds? Links to any plans would be much appreciated!
