Really no idea if I should be going for low or medium LED tape, don't want something that blinds me when I turn it on but equally don't want it so low it wasn't worth doing. Would 420 lumens p/m be enough? Also, best to go with cool light 600ok or 4000k? Experiences please. ta

We have 5630 LEDs, and if my arithmetic is working that's 2,500 LM/m and stupid bright as a direct light - enough so that I'm experimenting with dimming below 10% - but just about right as an uplighter.

It's not really a big decision, go too low and you can add a second strip, go too high and a PWM dimmer is £5 on Amazon. The LED tape is cheap enough you can even throw it away if you don't like it, it's the housing that's expensive.

I would always go 6000k in a kitchen, but that's me. Personal preference really. Do you want it to look cosy?
