Every year I enjoy the pressure and thrill of the last minute xmas shop but alas this year, despite an enormous long list, my daughter has had a positive test this morning so no last dash around the tesco's mega store! I am also slightly alarmed as I have no beer in stock and am going to have to rely on my wine cellar (rack under the stairs).

First world problems I know, but please tell us your tales of last minute xmas shopping to help while away the lock down minutes.

Merry xmas

eh... amazon are still gauranteeing delivery.

I think my best year was when funds were a little tight and cash flow dried up. paid at midnigh going into the christmas even. oredered everything I wanted to get at johnlewis, arranged click and collect, arrived 15 minutes before closing no waiting just wandered in picked them up drove home.

Sorted without any shopping misery.

Years ago I got my dad's present on Xmas Eve. Then went to do my shift at the pub. Couple of drinks after work led to getting home at 4am Xmas day to wrap said present.

All done online and last bits arrived over the weekend, my job now is to provide moral support (wine) to MrsSpud as she takes on Wrapper in Chief duties...

The kids are with their mum over Christmas, then with me from a few days after when they'll get their presents so I've got a deadline of the 28th not the 25th.

So I've been weighing up whether to wait until boxing day sale bargains or not. The risk being nationwide Tier4 and the shops closing so I bottled and have been out shopping already.

"I am also slightly alarmed as I have no beer in stock"
Take it from a chap who is 9 hours away from freedom after a positive test. Sort this out.
You will be searching every nook and cranny for something to perk the family up.

When I was a student in Sheffield in the late nineties, my housemate and I decided we'd do our Christmas shopping in Meadowhall. On the Saturday before Christmas.

Holy mother of God, I have never seen so many people in my life.

I once ordered a watch online for my dad at 1.15am on Xmas eve. It arrived at 11.45 pm on Xmas eve. Apart from that one slip I am an early shopper, usually starting in August as I have always worked in low paid retail jobs so needed to spread the cost
