Does anyone recognise this?, It's from years ago and has written on Striding Edge Gully, which must be wrong.

A bit lowey, not as scary or as big as I would have expected though.
It was bigger towards swirral but had slumped a bit.
Another 2-3inches last night and snowing this eve.

Cornices were bigger last year..

There's no gully like that on striding edge, so it's either one of the others on Hellvelyn east face or Nevermost Cove, I presume. It looks like an easy gully, probably not V Corner. I know Andy has alot of experience up there, so thought it was worth asking, so I could name it.

could be one of the gullies off the side of striding edge on the dollywago pike side. pretty steep all the way down there and i imagine some good winter routes. know helvellyn pretty well, but mostly in summer.

Is it not the rock step in Easy Gully on Pavey Ark?

I dont think so, easy gully in Pavey is fairly well hemmed in on the left by Pavey in a big way is it not ?

Actually looking at it again it could be the top of Nethermost Gully.
Now that does get big cornices..

I think it was there that Alan Hinkes got avalanched..

I once went to do it at night, walked in for 90 mins saw the cornice, bottled it and walked back out..
