Wanting some shelving/cupboards for above garage workbenches
Thinking easiest option is just to use kitchen units
Any other ideas?

Perfect, even better if you have a look on gumtree and find someone ripping one out.

Yeah, I refitted my old kitchen into the garage as storage for bike stuff.

Then the wife took it over as overspill storage for war cupboard supplies.

Works well as either though to be fair, probably worth putting a shout out on Facebook if you're not fussy what they look like.

I have just this second been measuring up for my own garage storage bench, and writing a cutting list.

It will store all of the usual family garage crap, and provide a home on the work surface for my mitre saw and drill press.

I considered kitchen units but then thought **** it - by the time I've "acquired" a second hand kitchen, I could have just built the benches out of timber. So I'm going to build a frame out of 3x2, put a top on it of 1in MDF, and fit sliding doors to the front.

It will also have integrated dust extraction 🙂

Just fitted two new ones in the workshop. The neighbour was binning them as they were the wrong ones delivered for her new kitchen. Had some 15mm HW faced ply kicking around, which I used for the worktop.

Wickes Takeaway range in the garage at the other house.
Only "issue" was the drawers struggle with any serious weight - so don't load them with all the spare Paslode nails, gas, chisels, morticing attachment, etc.
Or they get a bit stuck...

Bench is just being made out of timber
It was the wall storage I was considering using kitchen cabinets for

Yep, repurposed kitchen units going well in the shed. Whilst you've got them out bang a bit of reinforcement timber strips under the drawer bottoms and some small 90deg reinforcement pieces round the corners if you can. My 2nd hand/freebie ones struggle with the weight of tools otherwise.

I have some kitchen units(some wall and as a worktop base), but I also managed to get 5 metal stacking racks with 5 (or less) height adjustable shelves off ebay for about £80 delivered (900w, 450d, 1800h), well pleased with these and found by adding plastic storage crates (few quid from cheapo stores) that (imho)provided better wall storage that could be adjusted to suit everything
