We will be in touch
We're after new doors as we're tight and can't afford a complete new kitchen.
We like gloss cappuccino colour type door like this

our cupboards are beige inside and the edge that the door slams onto is the same as the door, currently, wood coloured. So, we will be removing this and sticking another colour on. Here's the question. Should this edge be the same as the doors or same as the cupboards?
I feel that the edges and kick boards should be this colour

as well s the kickboard and maybe the top rail thing. The edges of 2 cupboards also that are next to the extractor fan.
My sister thinks that the whole lot should be the same as the doors and my wife things a pine colour like this for the cupboard edges and kick boards

Generally the edges (faces) of cupboards are colour matched to the carcass but sometimes to match the doors if they are a strong colour.
The Plinths can be either matching the doors or a contrast to break things up which ever you prefer (We have gloss cream doors with stainless plinth for eg.)
End panels, cornice, pelmet etc. normally look best matched to the doors.
It's tricky, that's for sure...
What colour are the frame and forks?
The faces of the the cupboards should be matched to the carcass - looks a bit silly if it's a different effect. You're choice of colour for the edges and kickboards seems quite good for me. Bear in mind why kickboards are called kickboards though - light coloured ones can end up getting very tatty looking very quickly - generally when I see them, they're matched to the cupboards - but it's not a hard and fast rule.
To be honest this is very Personal as in choice.
I make and install bespoke furniture and this comes
up very often as the client can have what ever they want.
As the kitchen is already in place I would first put all the doors
or some and see what you think, being its going to be hard work
putting new cabinet edge strip trims on, plus your going to have to
trim the edge once on has the trim is wider than the thickness of material
its applied to.
Regarding kick board/plinth for a long time now we have been using mostly
a brushed aluminium laminate sheet and applying that to moisture resistant
MDF as it looks like s/steel without the price tag and you can still use
your chopsaw to cut to length and scribe to the floor.
Or we some times use a different colour laminate/timber again personal choice.
Nothing personal grantway - but I've noticed the steel effect plinths that have been appearing here and there - I think they look urrrggghhh myself - that said, if that's what the client wants, a professional like yourself just sucks it up...

LOL not really mate simply giving what the client wants.
Myself I have a very high grade laminate for the knocks and a different
colour to the kitchen and the edges are the same colour to the
cabinets.
The only time il put a different colour to the edges to match the door/drawer fronts would be on a open cabinet.
reagrding the s/steel effect plinths we use, are exactly like s/steel and we use these on the splash backs too, plus any scratches can be wet and dried out.

Wot he said. The wife is always right in these matters and you should be more concerned with whether or not to fit silver or black stem and seatpost. When she (inevitably) realises and admits she got it wrong, you get your reward with an "I told you so".
I had new kitchen in '07, dark purple glossy minimal cupboard fronts, no handles etc and the kickboards and trims are brushed aluminium/steel and it looks fantastic. Matches the appliances too. Teamed it with chunky oak 'floating' shelves and bar and grey veined stone worktop. I'm told it's got the 'wow' factor.
Sounds lovely teagirl. Shame our "white goods" are white. 😥
I'd think hard about the colour too, cappuccino is a funny colour and has been around for a while now. I agonised for months! Good luck!
