Hey,

has anyone tried these?
https://fightstoredublin.ie/product/sisu-1-6-junior-mouthguard-sunny-yellow/

A few kids in his class have them and they say they are great but a parent told me when she made it for her kid, it locked on to his teeth and she had to go to a dentist to cut it out...

Any thoughts?

Thanks

What sport is it for? If it's for a contact sport where a kick/punch in the face is likely then that one is probably too thin. I think they do a thicker one.

But as to whether it will suit your child - who knows! They are so personal. My daughter does Tae Kwon Do and we've recently gone through 3 new ones to find one that fits properly.

We've ended up with one of these...

My son has one for Rugby - just one from Sports Direct but had to shorten it (just cut it down with scissors) as it was catching at the back of his mouth. Fine other than that.

How much?

After your cherubim has chewed it to bits or more likely lost it between his mouth and it's box you will not want to be shopping £20 three times a season.

I get 10 at a time for £20 from eBay. Trim and mould. Spares kept in the first aid bag for any of the players that turn up on Sunday without theirs.

As above when my son was playing rugby for the school he was constantly losing gum shields - I wouldn't spend £25 on one.

Edit: Buy him these and tell him to man up 🙂

Went through this! Ended up with 'Bad Boy' as they are very mouldable (about £12, I think).

If you are buying boil and bite ones don't forget to trim them. They'll gag on them if the gumshield goes too far into the mouth.
