I'm thinking of popping over next saturday for a wander round, is it worth it, how busy does Keswick get when the mountain festival is on and is it possible to get parked, or is it an absolute waste of time?

Park up behind the Pencil Museum by the Keswick Mountain Bikes hire/workshop place (and next to the James Bond Museum!), it's a bit quieter there but yes, as a general rule Keswick is rammed at weekends - quiet til about 10.30ish usually then heaving.
Mountain Festival looks good, loads going on: demo & guided rides, talks and film shows, etc etc.
If you're planning on staying over in B&B then book now! It's quite busy at the moment cos of a Jazz Festival that's on.
