I have a Karcher pressure washer that is over a year old now, and today as it was a bit warmer i washed the wife's and then my car, now the problem i have is when i got to my car the pressure started to fluctuate between normal and very weak!

If i stop using it for a few seconds then pull on the trigger i get full power for about 5 seconds. Then it returns to half power again.
Now all this i found quite odd as i had just used it on the wife's car with no problems.
So, has anyone else ever had a similar thing and what was the cause?
These things are supposed to be maintenance free too.

your mains water pressure is borderline

ours does it sometimes

if you have variable output with a twist-handle, back it off a bit (though "power" will be down just a bit)

There might be an inline filter on the water inlet side.

Make sure this is clean.
If it is, is more that likely water pressur that's causing it.

I had a similar problem & it was the twist valve thing that switches between low & high sticking because of dirt
Try cleaning it & the jet at the end of the lance

Usually caused by MrsSwadey putting on the washing machine just as I get the pressure washer started up - shouldn't make a difference, I think it does.....
