This place was full of misguided fools when I was there (including myself). What are they gonna do with kanye?

The guy is a dickhead, just needs a qualification to prove it?

what is that all about?!

Funding should be withdrawal from that institution and they should simply go private.

Behave yourself Chewkw.

As long as he pays his dues like other foreign students, and fulfils the entry criteria, what's the big deal, Kev?

Or should the famous not be allowed to go to college?

Up to him, innit? As much as it was your choice to go there or not.

I'd like to see Snoop Dogg do an engineering Masters or something. Then open his own machine shop, making custom mall parts for the petrochemical engineering industry.

What celebs would you like to see at Uni, and doing what courses?

I dunno. what it seems to me, as much bollocks as it is, CSM has some fashion/music bod type history and kanye just wants to get into it without doing anything. he wants to do a fashion MA, in a big fashion college, but have you seen the state of him!? just trying to get some kudos, cos some bands that were good went to that college.

What you don't think he wants to do it purely just for a love of fashion then?

You think that arguably one of the biggest names in hip-hop, both as an MC and a producer, needs a bit of paper to give him kudos?

I'd like to see George Osborne at any Uni, even an old poly doing a degree in Economics.

oh I dunno. I'm sure there are lots of talented people from all over the place that should be in right before kanye, but what do I know. Look at him, look at him!

Having just had a look at some of the 'garms' his fashion label is making I'd say he probably should go back to school for a bit...

Indeed. What do you know about how 'talented' he is or he isn't? He's only 'applied'. So, all things being equal, I spose the entry sentries will treat his application like anyone elses'.

I could've gone to St Martins, easy. Thought it was too poncy though, so I went to Goldsmiths instead. 😆

my question is Why?

why? he's famous and loaded and obviously demonstrating a "style" of his own. why go to college? or this particular college? as far as I'm concerned it's a meaningless place full of arty twa ts. I am on skype 😉

So Kanye is going to single handedly pay off half of the bankers deficit?
What's not to like?
Might be some fun parties too.

As far as I am concerned he can study whatever he wants at where ever he wants so long as he pays ... as for that institution they should simply go private since they are "world" famous. No point funding them as whatever funding is still available should better put to good use to proper institutions that actually need the money.

Do they really need funding? I mean top fashion Uni? Also do you think Cambridge or Oxford need to? Put it this way some need not be funded but some goods at borderline should. Which one is the question.

🙄

Ok so the top colleges and Uni's should be private? Right, cos that's egalitarian, isn't it...

No. Education at all levels should be available to all, according to their individual ability, not cos of how rich they are.

Errmmm ... egalitarian ... yes & no to some extend.

Top Unis ... no funding as they can stand on their own feet hence they can decide the people they allow in, so anyone who wants to pay his/her way to them is his/her choice.

Mid/low ranking Unis ... yes, need funding because they still need some help to establish themselves as world class ... so in that case if they receive funding then everyone who earn their grade should be able to go there free-ish.

What's all this free this and that? It is not a right it is a privilege.

🙄

p/s: do'h slight hijack ...

It is not a right it is a privilege.

I disagree, I feel it should be a Human Right to the best educational standards an individual can achieve for themselves.

Regardless of wealth. Anything less is Elitism.

Human rights are privilege wrongly defined.

education is not a privelidge. It is something that should be available for anyone from any background, given the ability, discounting Kanye west, cos he's an arsehole. thought you were off to bed?

Now be fair even if he is a-hole he has the rights so long as he pays.

It is a privilege if one insists on choosing how one choose to live ones' life i.e. educated.
