MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
And I thought flying moths were awesome!
Edit: over 40 knots 😯
I want one!
not looking so impressive here:
How big a lottery win were you planning? You might just about afford the foil with a normal one.
I think I'd rather chuck a lottery win on a proper boat...
So would I, that's proper nice!
Saw this in Corsica & thought, 'that would do me'

Don't think you'll be able to afford a Bronson then?
ETNZ seem to have the foiling down better than Oracle who always looks bow down to me and twisting in the frame.
They have got the ACWS 45's foiling now as well, this may be more affordable.
Meh, all very nice Cap'n but I'd plump for Leander. Maybe you'd need to shift a few more post it's though.

oooh, that's nice, 1920s?
It is truly amazing though that a 7 ton boat can be doing 40 knots supported by just a single foil. Proper impressive 🙂
1920s?
Looks later to me, and also looks very C&N stylings. Very nice, though!
Sharkbait has it.
A Wally for me too, based out of Porto Cervo.
Edit: isn't there something in the AC rules that prevents foils that give lift?? Looks like they've ditched that then.
Impressive.

Or if you just need a little runabout to get from your yacht to the dock quickly---very quickly
Brilliant thread. Just for the record we should include the UK smashing sailing World record to pieces at 65 Knots. Previously it was kite board at 55 knots
Although Hydroptere would be a more versatile purchase. It holdsthe channel crossing recors
Any one of them would have been better than a bike on today's ride.
J-Class for the win. 8)
I think the team NZ are looking much more composed - the boat seems to be 'sitting' better when foiling etc etc.
J class lovely.
For me though an Ultra 30. Much ludicrousness especially in the trapeze era!
think mine would be wasted on a 655
Yer all screwed, most of the boats you have chosen need crew. Which as I can attest are in the main unreliable, costly and often crap.
What you really need is an X-Boat or Solent Sunbeam or an upto date International 14. There you only really need 1 crew who will be as passionate about getting round ChI Harbour in first place.
Or that Wally that you can sail single handed.
I've sailed Ultra 30's, whilst a whole lot of fun, organising crew was a total nightmare and when they went over they were a huge pile of pants to get upright, Ossie will back that up.
Or I'd go for a Figaro or an IMCO 60.
Sheet in.
Which as I can attest are in the main unreliable, costly and often crap.
Along that line, I had both power and sailboats for a few years when I lived in Las Vegas and was out on Lake Mead almost every weekend. What used to burn my butt was that everyone wants to go to the lake, but no-one wants to contribute to gas or, god forbid, help clean the boat up at the end of the day.
Some great pictures by the way.
It would have to be a Fife 19m for me, but I'm a bit biased! 😉
my lottery win's going on one of these
A classic--and a lot less of a pain in the a$$ to take care of
International 14 was my dream choice when I had time to sail dinghies far more prevalent round here than on the east coast where i.usped to live - 505 territory up there (soft spot for them too). Always preferred the front end of a boat to the stick/ wheel.
Remember helping extract an ultra up the hamble point slip. Big old lump of a thing bit disappointed to read they were a bit iffy to sail though - illusions shattered!!! Made good telly back in the day.
chav boats the lot of them (except the J-Class)

What's with all the boring gin palaces? Some very nice wind powered stuff though - that Speedrocket is just mental.
Here we go, you could get a full worlds campaign and stay in some very exotic places along the way..
Int14, full chat.

^^^^ yumm!
Class has come a very long way from its clinker built origins! Been a few years since I sawvone up close at an open they had at Hayling.
Reckon it might bust a car worth of cash buying one. Sure I was told 15k a decade ago.
Ahh ha, I'm a member of HISC and see these day in, day out ( and foiling Moths) 🙄
😆
Was a member there too (and at Weston) but the sailing's been on hold for a few years as was struggling to do enough sailing to exceed the duties with bikes and a young family to deal with too.
I saw this yacht up close last year - very striking.
