My music on my PC has disappeared (possibly deleted by accident), but the tracks are still on my iPod. How do I sync the music back to my PC? I'm worried that when I plug the iPod in iTunes will erase everything.

You may have to look for some kind of ipod 'backup software' as when it syncs, it will delete...

I sorted this for friends iPod the other yr.
Iirc you need to plug into a pc without iTunes running and open explorer looking at the iPod, go into folder properties and click show hidden.
The folders of tunes are there named with random numbers.

I can remember exactly how I got them in to iTunes but it was pretty simple.
Something like copy the files to the pc harddrive and import them to iTunes.
Google it- thats where I got the solution

use Winamp.

Plug in the iPod, and Winamp can see all the tunes on it.

Then you copy to local media 😉

Last time I used iTunes was about 4 years ago, to update the firmware on the iPod....

I can't recall the name now but there are free programs that work like itunes but aren't itunes and allow you to transfer music/videos/etc from you iPhone to the computer. C something IIRC is the one I use

EDIT - it's called CopyTrans
