Can we have a midweek controversy?

I wonder if I'm alone in wondering if Gervais was ever funny?

You, sir, are very far from alone.

I've always struggled to see any difference between how he behaves in 'real life' and the character he 'played' in the office, tbh.

Me too. Whenever I see him interviewed, I am never quite sure if he's being Ricky Gervais or hi The Office character (David Brent?).

Not funny in the past, neither is he in "An Idiot Abroad (pt2)" - I used to think it was ironic humour now I realise he is just a bully

PS LOL'd about the piles comment, how right you are

I'm offended by his success.

Actually, I'm not.

It seems odd, but I couldn't really give a monkey's.

I love piles, mainly because I haven't got em, and the jokes are endless and timeless

Agree totally with wwaswas and stumpy. He is David Brent.
In much the same way, I find it hard to differentiate between Smiffy from "Gavin and Stacy" and that D1ck he plays in real life.

Limited talent, but ideal for TV..

There, said it.

He's made one good film, it's about a Dentist who moves to New York and falls for a recently bereived Girlie and her dead husband haunts Rick.. SOunds odd, but actually a good RomCom Film. (can't remember the name of it)

Me too.
Although, I saw a standup thing the other day and it was a case of "How shocking can I be?" I still laughed though.
