I'd like some help from the STW IT massive.
2007 MacBook Pro; recent upgrade of OS to Lion but otherwise, I've not done anything to it. Only hardware change was doubling the RAM about 2008.
Now not booting. Power light comes on; CD ROM spins up, but no chime and screen remains black. Won't boot from CD drive; doesn't appear in target disc mode on my wife's Mac either.
Is it dead? Has anyone any other suggestions?
Andy
I'm not a Mac bod but,
Pull the power cord out, take the battery out, press the power button (to clear any residual charge), then reassemble and try it again.
I'm confused as to how you're trying to boot from CD when the screen is out. Does it display initially and then go off?
there is an 'issue' with lion & displays on certain macs. Have a look on the support forums - lots on there
Logic board has died. Bah.
