We used to have a dust-buster thing AGES ago and it was next to useless. Now I think one'd be quite useful around the garage / woodburner etc and really no idea what to go for / avoid. The new Dysons look good but £££ and can't really justify spending £70-£170 on the new range so wondered if anyone had any other recommendations?

Just turn your spam filter off, you'll get adverts for them all the time 🙂

Our Electrolux is quite good and seems to be lasting.

The more powerful dustbusters are pretty good...we use ours every day (we used to have the lowest model and it was useless)...Ours now will only run for about 7 minutes (the smaller / cheaper ones even less)...for anything better you can get hand-held ones with a mains lead...that's the only way it's going to be good for more heavy duty stuff.
