Try "suspended table". That produces a couple of possibles.

Oh - and try looking for "Suspended Table", US Patent 4815396 covers a version.

This is a floating table. Same general idea.

I think you should let WCA build it though, that would be far more fun.

I like the idea of a suspended tables as being able to pull it up out of the way seems a good idea if space is an issue. But some strong anchoring required otherwise swaying will occur which would be problematic....

It's not to dine on but to have in my entrance and I have been toying with this idea since I was 7 (first read about it in a belgian comics probably unknown to anyone here)
So basically not a lot of weight on it, biking kit + crash helmet max.

Where is that? I've DJ'd somewhere (maybe in Leeds?) that had the decks suspended like that - it was crap. 😀
