I've just upgraded the memory in my 2009 Macbook Pro so have the original 4GB (2x2GB) of DDR3 -1066 SODIMM memory that came out.
The wife has done similar with her 2006 iMac giving her 2x1GB of left over memory.
Neither were particularly expensive so I was just wondering if I might as well bin the old stuff or whether is has second had value or is in anyway of any use to anyone anywhere.
Take it that's a "no" then.
ebay it, somebody will but it.
I have eBay'ed old memory - some sold, some didn't. At least it saved it going to the dump.
DDR3 isn't "old" memory, it's current.
I'd love some ddr2 laptop memory...
As said its not old in any way, netbooks are often restricted so may well be useful to someone with one. Heres an idea, why not do a quick search on ebay and find out how much it sells for?
Either eBay it or put it in the electrical recycling bin. Lots of precious metals in them and easily recovered.
Don't just chuck it in the bin for landfill.
I'd love some ddr2 laptop memory...
You and me both. I've been wanting to upgrade mine for ages but 2x 4Gb SOMDIMMs go for nearly £100 and that's way too rich for me for ten year old tech.
My laptop is only 5 years old!
... but uses ten year old technology.
Maybe of use to someone wanting to upgrade their printer memory.
I had the same, also taken from 2009 macbook, mine went on ebay after 3 or 4 relistings for 99p + postage to someone in Ukraine. He did pay.
