In fairness to the unions they accepted his appology, probably realising that they were coming accross as humourless.
And if you read back the entire text of his interview he was providing an opposite extreme view to what he had said before.
Agreed - I did mention this on another thread yesterday - it is messy, confusing and the have made some content that WAS there a click away.

It is extraordinary that some consultancy firm probably got paid for this. I guess its goes in the Olympic emblem/mascot file. Its like the project was given to an infant school.
I seem to remember a similar outcry when they modernised the BBC News site.

I don't miss it no, but that was designed for vastly different browsers/screen resolutions/technologies.
But I do think the new homepage is a step backwards.
Some of the content pages are looking really nice though.
I think it's pretty good. I like the scrollable content.
