Couple of older chaps (Middle age) just getting ready for their ride discussing whether it was cold,

They're all wearing full length tights/Jackets,

One points out it can't be cold as I'm wearing shorts, I suggest It really isn't cold,

One of those moments where later on you wish you said something else,

MTFU.

Back brake froze this morning as did my water bottle.

Certainly not cold enough yet.

Long legs are for keeping legs clean it's never too cold for shorts on a bike ride.

I took my grandson swimming this morning and stuck him on the back of the shopping bike. I didn't wear gloves or jacket.

Felt a bit chilly on the way back.

When it gets cold I use a pair of knee pads to keep the chill out.
Haven't ever worn full length trousers for riding (other than once or twice doing dh) even when it was -10 ish and snowy last year.

Older chaps be middle age or in their 30s, 40s if the OP is in his 20s.

It was minus 4 this morning - I'd suggest that is a wee bit cold? Or am I going soft?

Some chap here was in full lycra gear and clear-rain-roadie-jacket, no gloves or hat/helmet in -5 this week up here. 😯

Haha, I forget that I'm now in my 30's, I would consider middle age around 40's, All perception, My 18 year old self would consider me now to be middle age.

I guess some of the negative comments came from those wearing full lengths on a day like today 😀

I would argue that you're only middle aged when you think you're middle aged. (48 & still daft)
