Fancy jazzing up a padded polyester winter jacket of mine. Will iron on patches stick to the polyester alright or damage it?

thanks.

It should work but you need to be careful with the heat, too low & it won't stick, too high & it'll scorch (or even melt!) the jacket. I've done heat-pressing onto polyester jackets before & they were fine (this was with temperature controlled equipment though!!)

Slight thread hijack but I have a really nice Berghaus walking jacket, which I lent to somebody about 15 years ago and he wore for a week, in fact I think he even slept in it because it stinks of his dirty body and I can't bring myself to wear it.

Wash with normal detergent then wash again with no powder then wash-in proofing? It owes me nothing.

I thought you could get pre wash in proof cleaners too.

Surely nikwax tech wash then wash in or spray on re-proof?

I'm sure I was told you should even do an empty wash first to flush out any detergent from the machine.
