The wife's been trying to synch her IPod Nano but keeps getting this;

"The IPod "name's IPod" cannot be synched. You do not have enough access prviliges for this operation"

Driving me up the wall FFS as it appears to be down to me to resolve as I bought the dratted device for her as a BD present (next time it will be a weekend in the woods making chairs or something).

I've found some advice on the Apple forum but suggestions didn't work. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas?

Cheers

do you have an ipod yourself? it may be that itunes on your computer is set for your ipod only this is to prevent others from accessing your music and other stuff (copyright etc),see if you can download a seperate itunes program for your wife and plug her ipod into it first so it recognises her ipod as the primary one for that particular copy of itunes. hope that makes some kind of sense.

Find your iTunes media folder and do a get info on it.(Select folder and comand I). Check the sharing and permissions area it should show read and write access for you and everyone else who accesses the folder. Unlock the padlock by using your administrator password and then apply the permissions to the enclosed items. (Hidden under the cog at the bottom of the info window). Syncing should now be possible.

close iTunes.
Right-click the shortcut for iTunes.exe.
Click the Compatibility tab.
Check the box beside "Run this program as an adminitrator"
Click Apply and/or OK.
Launch iTunes and sync

Edit: Sandwich's advice above is probably what you want to do however!!
