MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
I gave my iPhone4 to my lad when it was upgraded, and then my daughter bought herself an iPod with her Xmas and birthday money. But because I won't let them have their own iTunes/App store accounts all the devices are linked on the Cloud ... or something. I dunno.
Upshot is that my daughter was trying to message me today to beg me to pick her up early, and my son's phone was getting the messages. Sometimes she will get a iMessage (I dont know what this is BTW) and my boy's phone will ring. And when his mates try to facetime him, my phone goes off.
I have no idea what I have done wrong or what I need to do to sort it. If someone can explain in the Language of the 20th Century (my fave) how we can unlink or decouple or split them, I will send you lots and lots of money*

Settings messages, send recieve messages at and change email
Edit or wipe them set them all up with their own acc and don't add payment details. Then free apps only.
iMessage is Apples own SMS system that works across iDevices independently of the phone network, like Watsapp.
It's linked to all devices via iCloud, Apple's Cloud storage system, and allows a message, or phone call, or text, to be read on any or all devices and computers on the network linked by a common Apple ID.
I can answer a phone call with my iPad while my phone's connected to my Mac in the other room, for example, the same with emails.
As wysiwyg says, give them their own ID's and change settings.
Beer via PayPal would be nice... 😉
Cool, thanks. Own ID's. Will do that today
