but better sound quality...
I’ve been looking for some alternatives to standard Apple (preferably ones that don’t burrow into the ear too much as they either fall out or are uncomfortable), with all the functionality of Apple ones – are there any out there that have this?
Or is it patented by Apple?
In the past I’ve loved my Sony groove shaped earpieces http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-MDR-ED21LP-Groove-Earpiece-headphones/dp/B00009NK3L/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1329137252&sr=1-5
as inexpensive but far better sound quality and was wondering what’s out there?
Willing to spend up to £50 max.
Cheers
Couple of suggestion to help or hinder...

Since posting on the above, I've just managed to kill my right hand speaker on mine (hey they survived being sucked into a spinning vacuum head), so am undecided as to whether to do for some more MM50iP or the new MM30i's (which look exactly the same as mm70iP's to me..)
EDIT: I don't want to spend more than £50 myself, as I regularly manage to kill headphones in stupid ways... as per the vacuum incident....
Cheers z1ppy
Highly rate the Nixon The Wire 8mm... look ace and sound quality is far far better than apples own
tons of colour options to choose, different plug options for ears and nice carry case!!!
google - prices seem to be knocking around 30-35quid so change from your 50 🙂

What does this mean? They plug into the iPod and sound comes out (craply in Apple's case). What other "functions" am I missing!?

mic?
and buttons to control the thing?
I've got the Diddybeats (currently using them right now in fact) and they're ace. Not sure what the leather and chrome is all about but they walk all over the rubbish Apple ones. They aren't cheap by any stretch and if I had to buy again, i'd just go for the cheaper Beats ones...
the anti-tangle cable thing is brilliant though....

I have a pair of the regular version of these, and they are outstanding. They do need 'burning in', but the sound improves significantly over a week or so. The fit is best with the triple-flange tips in the pic, but they come with a whole bunch of eartips. I've got 'phones that cost a lot more but these easily match them, and the sale price makes them a steal.
Oh, and the design makes them fit flush to the ear, so you can pull a beanie over them, and sleep or lay down with them in, unlike most canalphones.
