I've got a bit of a project on with an old red brick terraced house. The external walls have an unfilled cavity, and I'm planning on diy-ing some addition internal insulation.

Anybody got any tips? seems an area very subject to opinion! I'm guessing using battens is better than dot and dab? What about window reveals etc?

When I next redecorate the rooms with external solid walls (Victorian house), I'll take off all the Victorian plaster and bond 50mm Celotex sheets lined with plaster board to improve the insulation a bit.

Seems if you use battens there's no need to take all the plaster off, you just might loose a couple centimeters more space. How are you sealing the edges etc?
