1.8 Minecraft
Correct version of forge
Putting jar files into the correct folder AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/mods
Running it as Forge profile
Downloaded mods not appearing in the mods screen
I'm really struggling with this - any advice? PLEASE
You do realise that Minecraft is more than a bit shit dont you?
Stick with it unmodded? 🙂
I dread when Nem Jnr asks to have a PC version of the game (Xbox at the mo) so he can add mods...

Do you have a spare 6 year old child around to do it for you ? 🙂

Have you deleted META.INF? Its in the minecraft.jar bit I think, use something like winRar or 7zip to access it.

good luck

I have an 8 year old and a 10 year old. When I was their age, I would have been able to do this without any trouble whatsoever. Probably because my Dad couldn't even work the video recorder or even switch on a computer - I HAD to learn how to do everything or it didn't happen.
My kids are shit with tech - they just expect dad to set it up and fix it for them! I fear for them in later life 🙁

Will have a look at this after an espresso break - thanks.
we had simular problem a few years back and got round it by downloading the required files to desktop and then dropping them into the program from there rather than directly downloading
i am no expert in this and it may not even be related to what you said up there
- google helped me sort it

Seems to me like the solution might be staring you in the face there... 😉
Be careful with mods, they sometimes piggy back a lot of bad software in the install file. End result is your machine runs like a dog because of all the toolbars, quick buy extensions, adware that is installed.
what mod is it and are you putting the zip files in the mods folder or unzipping it first. is the program crashing or is the mod just not working. should see what error if its crashing. are you sure you are using right forge in the profile
There's a piece of software Minecraft Magic Launcher which does the job of sideloading mods rather nicely. Not sure if that link is the up-to-date version, I've not used it for a while, but some google-fu on your end will sort that.

Thanks all. The ilivid downloads and links to gambling/gaming sites is horrendous.
I've managed to get one working, after realising that you need forge compatible mods.
It's a bloody nightmare / minefield that I may just admit defeat to!

I think you may be on to something there 😈
