I'm experiencing a huge increase in spam. Whats the likelihood my visible email on this site (via profile) being to blame even with the formatting like ➡ 'my DOT name AT blueyonder DOT co DOT uk' 🙄

Spam servers were brought to an almost halt end of last year one when of the providers aiding them was busted. It's now slowly increasing, I have an exclusive email for this forum and it's about the only one of my emails that isn't spammed.

I think it's naive to believe that 'dot' and 'at' will fool an email harvester...

I am being bombarded by someone who believes that my specialist educational interests go well beyond watching a man and a woman with hairless gentials having noisy, angry intercourse in a wide range of improbable positions. Today I was offered "woman suck cock of horny baboon". Which is just wierd.

i don't think it's this site?
i used to get 100-150 spam a day as my email is public because of my work but i think part of the problem was due to my hosting provider as 99% of the spam was to a string of letters@customermail, the string being my username for their sytstem (this username was never public or used to log-in) they changed their mail servers and i have only had 2 spam mails in a month with the spam control turned off?!?
their response was crap when i asked about changing the username to stop spam and was given no explanation as to why mail to me from existing clients was never getting to me or the spam/trash on their servers.
i'm no email tech head but maybe part of the problem is your email host?

I've been getting loads about 'farmyard practices', and also loads about celebrities, which have google in their address. I'm trying to get my mail to learn how to block them, without much success. It suddenly seemed to happen late last year.

Since I moved to gmail I hardly receive any spam. It really is the best filter I have ever used. You can route any email address through gmail.
