?‍♂️

That was part of a post kryton57 just made.

Now, he posted from an iPad and the emoji kind of happened by chance basically?

I note you can't copy and paste the emoji only, you have to copy the "?" too. That's interesting as I'm sure we all know that when you try to post an emoji a "?" appears instead.

And IT gurus have any thoughts? Would be nice to have a work around until they are implemented in the forum again.

Please, let's not use this post to complain about the forum, that's not what this post is about!

Id be happy just to get the smile and wink emojis to work to defuse posts that can be ambiguous! Lol

No idea

?

^Thats an emoji of someone sort of shrugging.

Perhaps as an interim we just need to write florid, descriptive interpretations of the emojis we want to use

< A yellow face with an open mouth wailing and streams of heavy tears flowing from closed eyes. May convey inconsolable grief but also other intense feelings, such as uncontrollable laughter, pride or overwhelming joy.>

Hmmm - not sure if thats removed any ambiguity.

Just pretend you're in the 90's again and use the text versions 😉

Emoticons vs emojis! :-p

Noses optional. 😉  :p

Edit, test:

Ok, thought so. ?‍♂️ is the "man shrugging" emoji, which technically speaking, is the shrug emoji combined with the "male" symbol. The shrug does not display on this forum at the moment but the male symbol (which you can type by pressing alt + 11 on the numpad) does, and is converted to that blue version.

Same for female btw, alt + 12.

If you type shrug emoji and edit your post, you'll see that the question mark and the gender symbol are together as one character (ie, you can't put the cursor between them).

TL;DR no there isn't a workaround, you've just stumbled across the forum's formatting for certain text symbols, sorry 🙂

Edit 2: I wonder if it works for other symbols.
