is it still running?
I keep trying to catch it out by clicking on the tab quickly and seeing it not moving but without success.
It's the fridge light all over again.

It'll still be in memory, don't see why it would stop playing. Its not like its a connection which closes when you stop viewing the tab. You've loaded the image so it shall play on loop to your browsers content. Videos don't stop when you aren't viewing the tab?
Btw not a web or soft dev (I'm a Networker). So I only expect this is how it works.
