Found this washed up on Woolacombe bay beach yesterday, I know it's pretty manky but does anyone know what it was from the claws ? Our best guess was an ex badger ?

IIRC a lot of the flotsam and jetsam that lands in Cornwall has floated there from the americas, although typically more northern end of the US and canada rather than south america, so no reason to assume its something native to the UK.
