Last couple of days the boiler has taken it upon itself to fire up the heating for no particular reason. Thermostat is set for 8 deg and is showing 20 do no commands issued from there. Not sure if it's some kind of release of some sort. Any experts in the house?

We have an ideal logic and it does fire up occasionally when there is no call for either hot water or heating. Heating doesn't actually seem to come on when it does this.

I think there's a switch on the front of those to turn off the preheat function
