Slightly more upmarket (and costly) than the Breakfast Pie, I felt my 'pie senses' tingling and fancied a roast dinner type pie...
Then I got thinking about Mint Sauce Keyrings.
Then I made this..

It's quite straight forward - key ingredients:
[img] [/img]

Lightly flour the lamb and brown off..
[img] [/img]

Chuck the rest of the ingredients in - yes, that's a whole bottle of nice red!
[img] [/img]

Boil away for 2-3 hours, until the meat falls off the bone.

[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]

I bought the puff pastry - it's too much of a faff to make..
Descriptive lettering optional...
[img] [/img]

Now the classic dilemma of 'I've made a pie, when shall I eat it..?'
Probably will stick it in the oven for lunch - pre and post (!) eating photo's are sure to follow!

So...Anyone else got pie planned this weekend?

Bring to the boil then simmer away for 2-3 hours, until the meat falls off the bone.

Other than the FTFY I'd say that's pretty bang on for a weekend pie. Good effort.

No pies planned here, will be on the case nearer winter though.

That looks great! I might make a pie tomorrow now... Chicken & stuffing, beef & mushroom with carrot & parsnip. Mmmmm.

Dr P Once again sir, I doff my cap to your awesomeness! You are truly an inspiration to us all.

I'm heading off to Wales in about an hour, on my hols. There are a good few of us, and I'm pencilled in for cooking on 2 nights. I'd decided on a beef goulash one evening, but was undecided on what else I was going to cook. You have just supplied the answer! I salute you!

Binders - I forgot to say, use about 300ml of beef stock in there too...and the small jar is a little jar of red currant jelly...
