I think the jury should have been found guilty. Worst case of phoning in a stereotype performance I've heard in ages
My sister has just served on the jury for two different abuse cases* and speaking to her, those sterotypes weren't far from the truth (unfortunately).
I think this Archers storyline has been gripping stuff and i had a big sigh of relief when the verdict was handed down. Now for the custody hearing 😯
*The first one was unpleasant enough that i hoped they'd release her from service, but she was called back in for another domestic abuse case. She had a pretty grim fortnight
Yes I'm certain that kind of ignorant dogma is prevalent. It was the hackneyed performances that got to us. An old theatre saying: if the cast are really enjoying themselves the audience probably isn't.
Didn't enjoy the hour long "special" too much.
Last night was excellent!
Pat putting the boot into Rob was great!
Agreed. The jury hour wasn't great. The doorstep desperation last night was excellent
Rob to miss the family court session due to being interview by Borchester CID.
I just hope they don't flog a dead horse now, they did well with the Grundy boys love triangle. Leave it bubbling under the surface for a couple of years.
Ha!
Suck on that, Titchener!
Pat hoofs Ursula in the slats as well!
Go Pat!
#PatSlats!
Ok my predictions were wildly inaccurate 😆
So what now for Tichener? Will he keep the job? Ursula Pat rematch ?
Are Tom and Kirsty doomed?
Can't believe I have been sucked back into Ambridge 😆
The Archers do like slow burn plots so maybe he'll hang round like a bad smell for 15 years and then when Henry and his son have grown up and try and regain control of them.
Thank God thats all over at last (or is it???). Next step is Rob being charged with rape then he goes on to kidnap Helen and Jack and then shooting himself during a Police siege.
Slow burn plots you say? Well I think I mentioned months ago that Eddie bodged a log burner into Lynda's summer house thing. CO alarm? I suspect not.
It seemed to be a bit smokey so I'm waiting for the first sign of cooler weather and an unresponsive Snell cliffhanger.
Never understood the appeal of soaps and I never listen- occasionally its background news- but even i find myself interested in this tittle tattle
Did Ursula swop the chutney jars?
Is there nothing this woman won't stoop to?
Is there nothing this woman (and her son) won't stoop to?
😉
Jazza should of given him a good thrashing 🙂
Can Ursula sew?Well, get her to STITCH THIS, THEN!
Sharp word in the pavilion before the Darrington friendly.
Rob being given a more than usually chilly shoulder by everyone. How long until he snaps?
I suspect we're in for another slow boil...
You might be right, but from the omnibus earlier (Was away last week) and today's episode, Rob is clearly going off the rails.
Heavy drinking at the Bull, then the creepy/scary corridor conversation (Shame Jazzer didn't hoof him in the slats) and the frankly loony appearance at the cricket.....it's going to go wrong! Seriously wrong!
I might have to take it up again. Anyone fallen off a roof recently?
Harrison booting him in the slats now! 😀
Can't wait until he goes completely mental!
I'm wondering just how he'll go off the rails. I can see some kind of highly dramatic Christmas episode, where he goes out with a bang etc... or maybe even bonfire night, given the rate of descent.
Divorce proceedings! BOOM!
Soosan preparing a DIY fruit enema! MORE BOOM!
And he's nicked all her money.
Susan refusing to serve him in the shop.
Kicked off the cricket team.
I predict Rob meltdown coming soon.
Heard the omnibi from the trial onward, excellent, especially as I didn't actually know the backstory. Gonna keep it mind again 🙂
So, Rob is getting rid of Henry's things now?
Also, should we now ask teh modz to change the thread title?
Tally Ho, Oliver!
Susan and Neil's face pack and 'chilli' last week?
Still wake up screaming, every night.
Neil giving Susan a facial, you mean?
Loving to hear Rob gradually melting down....!
Psych report is in.....
Don't know if it's a spoiler or not, but basically it says that Rob's a nutbag.
now we know....
Surely she isn't actually thinking about getting back together with him. I know she's made some dumb choices when it comes to men, but really......!!!
You should have slammed the door straight away Helen.
seems that is the way she is thinking
I can't understand why everyone is so mystified where the santa on the lawn came from.
I see Kirsty is on the non-alcohol options already.....
And now Debbie giving Rob both barrels! Capped off with Ian offering Rob his warm, flat lager.
Meltdown imminent.
Go Debbie!
Looks familiar...
Go Adam, go Adam!
Hell hath no fury like ........Kirsty goes full batshit on Tom, what did he expect 😆
Tom's a twit, @?
To be fair, Kirsty did the sex with him. On purpose. So, she's not saint either.
Sad interview with Sara Coward (Caroline) 🙁
that is sad 🙁
+1 very very sad,
To be fair, Kirsty did the sex with him. On purpose. So, she's not saint either.
to get pregnant on purpose? didn't think that myself, i thought it was just a spur of the moment thing with them
Personally, and I say this without any sort of prejudice, it's about time the red-hot poker was brought into play.
Stefan is back!
. . . but will he still be alive by next week?
I reckon PC Harrison 'Carpet' Burns will catch Rob in the act. Justice shall be served!
I've forgotten... what does Stefan know?
Was it about the blocked drains / floods?
Or the dead dog in the food store?
Or something else?
Dead dog in silage that caused the cows to be poisoned.
There may e other stuff.
Why Stefan can blackmail Rob.
Thanks CFH!
Sniff.
Sniff, sniff...
A bit dusty...
Oh Bert......
Lillian heard everything, didn't she?
It would appear that she did!
BOOOM!
Is it really THE END for Rob?
#countdowntomeltdown
. . . or THE END for Stefan?
So....
Rob kills Stefan?
Rob kidnaps Henwee and Jack and absconded?
Rob slips away to Minnesota, to return at a later date?
Lillian hoofs him in the slats?
He ain't going without Gideon...
OK, so the 'executive apartment' is empty, but he can't have gone that quickly and easily can he?
Meh Rob is gone, but are Kirsty and Roy getting a bit cosy?
Helen's right to be worried. Rob's setting up a bivy on Hayden Barrow to spy on the village and will swoop like an eagle to snatch Henry and Jack. Only thing that will frighten him away is being chased by Tracy the man eater.
It certainly seemed a bit tame, compared to the melodrama of recent years. But Sean O'Connor (editor) has returned to the mean streets of EastEnders, so perhaps we're back to worrying about the weather, and the price of milk.
2 things, been out of the loop for a littlw while - 1) Where is Rob going?
2) What is going on with Susan's accent? Devon via dudley?
Crikey. Friday was a bit fruity, wasn't it!
He can't have just disappeared, can he? Must be somewhere......
I quite like the general worrying about the weather and the price of milk. People chewing the fat with animal sound effects is my kind of Arches. 🙂
Reminds me....how is Bartleby doing these days?
That was quite good.
Looking forward to his reappearance.
They always save the best for Fridays and Sundays. 🙂
Comes back grabs Jack vanishes. Endless storyline is endless.
Rex and the new vet, romance in the air?
Possible explanation of Rob's departure.....
Helen had him killed. Stefan, perhaps.
..or not.
HE'S ALIVE!
Now....what money on Ursula being the one who stops his evil deeds?
She sounded on the edge of it all, and her husband is/was equally vile as her son. So, perhaps she will have an epiphany and save the day.
Tone of conversation with Henry sounded like he wasn't going to snatch him, but it did look like he had something in store for Helen.
Ursula is a good call for intervention Flashy but she won't turn him in as she wants him to be desperately and ingratiatingly grateful to her.
Who trusts Toby?
