MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
And I am utterly fed up with it, even though I want to do the presentations really. Done next to nothing all day.
I'm bloody useless.

I actually bought his book, it is a nice read.
Focus..
And get off here..
just sack it off and do it last minute. no one will know anyway, the majority of people are so bad at their jobs people like you and me can do the bare minimum and still shine.
Thank me after the presentations
Actually, I work with some pretty sh*t hot people. I'm a little worried about that, but I'm being ambitious. If I can shine then I'll get lots of work.

I have recently been on a four day training course on how to give presentations. It has totally changed the way I approach things - very enlightening. I would agree with the death by PowerPoint sentiment.

Does this mean it's a sales presentation then?
i'm also working on at the moment. do you work for an agency by any chance?
Not sales, no. It's entirely technical. The people to whom I am presenting don't know me, but if I make them think I am clever they will request me to work with them on their projects, and my billable ratio will go up. This reflects well on me and increases my bonus 🙂 Actually, simply doing the two presentations will reflect well, the bonus is calculated on how useful/clever/hard working you are.
Don, it's for the Madrid thing. We're going to be shut in a hotel at the airport until 6pm every day.. 🙁
Yep prezi, you will never use power point again, just don't get too swirly with it
Remember to put yourself in their shoes and tackle the stuff (e.g. questions etc) they want to hear.
If anything, take 1 point from 'death by presentation'.
Before you even start on presentation, set your goal.
Obviously, you have that covered by 'This presentation should allow me to get more money from them' 🙂
So now thing about the content to reach that, and then work on best way to present that. I've found the 3 major/3 minor points per presentation as suggested enough - it makes you think about important points.

That'll be nice... 😆
Still, it's only something like 15 mins to the city centre by Metro.
For the presentation.
Keep It Short and Simple.
1 Core idea ( I would still say it's a sales presentation), so you need to be thinking about how the content will benefit them.
No longer than 20 mins (any longer and it's not a presentation)
Three sections.
NO BULLET POINTS, (please don't insult me by using bullet points).
Watch Resevoir Dogs to see how Tim Roth learns his story.
Practice the presentation until you are comfortable.
Then, and only then can you think about slides to elaborate the presentation.
Objective- You must be able to deliver a coherent presentation without needing slides.
No more than 10 words per slide.
No more than one slide every 3 mins.
