I've got a long term project in my head that I feel could work really well (hence it still being in my head)... but I need a partner in crime to go the whole hog with it.

Where would I look for such a person as I fell into what I do in a round about way so I don't have many friends in the field.

- I'm after a server side coder - PHP, JS ect...

What part would you be playing in this partnership? It sounds like you've got an idea, but you've no idea how to implement it so you want someone else to do the actual work for you. Or am I just being overly cynical?

Anyway. Try LinkedIn maybe? I hear that's what a lot of recruiters are doing these days.

A friend of mine gets his help via freelancer-for-hire websites. You can recruit globally with associated cheaper wages. Works for stuff that can be done by email.

I use freelancer sites but I'm really looking for a partner - freelancers get a bit tiring.

If you do this you need to specify very well your requirements and be able to test, integrate and test fully yourself, meaning you need some level of technical knowledge.

I recommend the coffee shop outside of the Cabinet Office somewhere in London. Met my business partner there and the company now employs lots of people and turns over millions....sadly without me anymore.

Try who guys Jimmy? 😀 Brick - I can do all that - I'm just after what it says on the tin a partner in crime. I can hold my own at what I do quite well.. I just want to share the journey.

I'm a web dev with over 10 years experience, if you're seriously looking for a partner to code your idea drop me an email with a brief outline (don't need the detail just an overview and I'll give you an idea of time/money etc so you can work out what commitment a partnership would mean to the guy doing the coding. Hey Lefty - thanks for the heads up - I'm having talks with a mutual friend at the moment as I've been running this past him for a year or so but neither of us have had time to progress it... I'll see how our initial thoughts develop as it maybe great to get someone else on board or delegate some jobs.
