ok so my wife got a nano for christmas and we are now itunes compatible. i just went on to play a track, double clicked it and it detached from the album and created itself a nice little home under the album. can i fiddle get it back to where it belongs. i hate to say it but media player has been far easier to use in the past.
bah humbug
you did something wrong so you hate itunes?
there's an option somewhere that stops itunes copying a file to it's own directory. Look in options, It's fairly obvious once you see it.
yes tribal, a bad workman blaming his tools! i just find that it's too flipping automatic, I WANT CONTROL, it's like having a car change gear for you, what's that all about!
In general you're right, iTunes is a bit crap although as samuri says, Options menu is your friend in this instance. If you've got a fairly big collection of mp3/flac etc files then Mediamonkey is worth paying for, imo.

Like having a car make the pistons go up and down for you

If you take a few seconds to work out how the car works you will see the gear stick just on the left there ๐
