I've had 4 years use out of a £70 Titan Electric Chainsaw from Screwfix. To my amazement the Titan is still going strong. It's chopped 4sqm of hardwood a year and is on it's 5th chain 'cos I find a lot of nails. 😀

For no other reason than portability, I'd like to get a petrol one.

Anyone care to suggest a better value saw than the Husqvarna 135?

Will a small petrol saw require a big jump in skill? The Titan seems to be very well behaved, I really don't want to lose that.

Nowt wrong with Huskys. As far as I can see the professional use is split about 50/50 with Stihl. And I see a lot of saws around me.
I have 2 of each and can't fault either of one. Just pick a size that suits. Sounds like you don't need anything big.

Check out amazon.de, there are some euro bargains to be a had. Look at dolmar and makita (which are blue dolmars) too as they seem to be particularly cheap in Germany.

I've had a Husqvarna 340 for about 5 years, used most weekends. Sometimes I even clean it. Been 100% reliable, starts first time.

I've got the 236 as World of Power were doing it cheaper than the 135 ( I think the 135 superseded the 236), it's a great wee saw, I'm a compete novice and still have all my limbs, pretty easy to work with.
