Our Humax box keeps turning itself off. We returned it under warranty and the new one has also started doing this. My partner is convinced it started when we attempted to play a DVD. Has anyone else had this problem? Did you solve it?
Ta
Is it buried under a pile of stuff or locked in a cupboard? Ie, is it overheating?
Ours has a config option that turns it off automatically after 4 hours of inactivity - it's not that is it?
It's on a TV cabinet with the TV on top of it. So it might be worth moving, as it happens after an hour+
I'll check the config options but it doesn't seem to happen at regular intervals...3 times in 2 hours last night, Grrrrr

Doesn't sound like the configurable one - that pops up a message on screen saying something like "Ima gonna shutdown in 30 seconds unless you press Ok. Bet you can't find the remote in time. Good luck" 😀
My humax box was very buggy. I sent it back and replaced it with a Panasonic which seems to have cured all those issues.
Our older Humax (bought probably 10 years ago) was faultless unlike our DTR-T2000 which failed in its first year. The replacement is already experiencing glitches...glad i got a 5 year warranty from Richer Sounds
Yep our "new" reconditioned replacement for the one that kept switching itself off is now 2 weeks out of warranty....
our DTR-T2000 which failed in its first year.
We've got the 1TB version of the HDR-T2000 (i.e. normal Humax interface instead of the YouView bobbins of the DTR).
Had it for a couple of years at least and it has been faultless.
I generally really rate them so interesting to here other experiences.
As they normally get good write ups and as both boxes have the same fault I am wondering if it's something else...
There have been a lot of software issues with Humax boxes recently according to their technical dept when I last spoke to them.
If I were you I would give them a call and see what they say. They are generally very helpful.
Dammit, I read the thread title as "human box" and this is much less interesting than I thought. Still, whatever a human box it is, it doesn't sound good.
As you were.
