I'm looking for new recipes to jazz up my morning Huel shake. What do other people mix into their Huel?

Open bin. Place nonsense in said bin.

Eat food.

It's a bit difficult trying to eat a bowl of cereal while driving at 70mph down the motorway in the morning.

It's a bit stupid to be slugging goop out of a bottle while driving at 70mph down the motorway in the morning. Get up 15 mins earlier and implement joshvegas's plan.

Okay.

Follow step one and two.

Replace step three with add cocopops and milk to the shaker.

Edit: i was going to make that comment also but he has a point^

I presume it's called HUEL because that's the noise you make when you boak it up ?

I use HUEL, try the flavour boosts for a bit of variety. I use it when I;m at work because the food on site is shit.

Not tried huel, but I swapped "breakfast" for one of the diet protein shake options. Can't remember which brand it was (might have been myprotein?) but one was obscenely sweet. Toned it down a bit with a big dollop of natural yogurt which toned it down nicely and made it a bit less like McDonalds Milkshake.

I presume it’s called HUEL because that’s the noise you make when you boak it up ?

To be fair, I don't miss the other options. It's not like jam on toast is some sort of gastronomic delicacy to be savored and be proud of cooking up.

Also lost some weight which was a bonus. Probably because almost all breakfast options revolve around massive amounts of carbs and sugar (bread, cereal, milk).

Don't mix anything in. I don't really mind it anyway, just knock it back quickly as the speed & simplicity is the appeal. Tried the flavour boosts before, they are OK but actually add a fair bit to the cost if you always use one, currently on the chocolate flavour of the new (ish) black formulation. Does the job for me.

Only cos the name gruel was already taken.

Never fails to amuse how limited people can be at breakfast, as if there's some kind of rule, thou shalt not eat owt other than cereal, toast or some other made up shite.

I used it for a while, cooking was pretty tricky with a broken arm in a cast up to the shoulder!

I would put it in a blender (nutri ninja) with some of the following (not all together!) and ice cubes:

Shots of real coffee
Peanut Butter
Fruit - I found banana and/or apple worked best

I also thought the flavour shots were a bit expensive / not that great.

Well it looks like I’m the only fan. I have it 50:50 milk to water with about 100gms of frozen blueberries or a banana.

Do these people not have B&M Microwave Egg Poachers?

As a (former) travelling salesman I use Huel when my only other choice would be a poor nutrition petrol station / train sandwich.    Having said that even service stations have a decent M&S style choice now, so actually its not very often but is a nutritious option in lieu of eating crap.

I use Huel Black straight as a 1/2 portion as a mid morning/afternoon snack sometimes to keep my protein intake at decent levels for recovery.

I love it. Get through a few bags each month. Pure convenience with the knowledge that it's balanced and not some shitty slim-fast replica.

It helps that I happen to like each flavour that I've had so far.

I find it a bit bland with water, but REALLY nice with milk or oat milk. Can't it mix too brilliant in the bottle, but not sufficiently annoying for it to be worth the bother of putting it a blender. 🙂
