Well a waste of money IMHO
20 years to complete, cost will at least double and all to save an hour.
We are not a big enough county FFS to warrant a ultra high speed rail line.
Most exponents say "Improve connectivity" well start with electrifying current network and buy some new trains and make them in the UK.
