Anyone had any experience of a Howies Merino Yurt?

I am considering one for the wife and concerned about cleaning. It says hand wash only but want to see what your collective experiences are. I'd worry about it getting dirty whilst walking/camping and then not being able to clean it properly.

I'm a merino noob, but am concerned that it's likely to shrink and go naff like most other wool.

Cheers

Tom

Got loads of Howies merino stuff and I think it's great. No problems with shrinkage, but then what I bought is machine-washable so can't comment on the hand-wash gear.

I've had a yurt fleece for about ten years and love it, it's snug and comfy as can be. I don't think I've washed it yet though; the beauty of merino.

I've got a few merino tops and they all get washed in a 30C cycle in the machine without any shrinkage problems.
