When do you put your christmas tree up? We want a real one about 8 foot ish. Are there deals to be had if we get it sooner?

Quite the opposite, Homebase started giving away their Christmas trees on the 22nd last year - I got 5 🙂

Putting ours up after tea, very excited 🙂 our first Christmas together we bought a tree on 1st December but didn't water it properly so it was bald by Christmas day 🙂 OH made us have a fake one after that 🙁

Now I'm confused. Do you introduce the tree to the household or the household to the tree?

Why? Did you wrap them up for the rest of the family?

One for the kitchen/diner, one for the lounge, one for my mum, one for a work colleague, one for another work colleague.

Always struggle to get a tree as I refuse to put it up until 23/24 and these days it's getting harder and harder to get a tree past about the 20th of December so I was quite excited by the prospect of free trees.

The mini one is going up tonight. The bigger one tomorrow. They're both plastic types.
Because the weather's taken a turn and got a little cooler it actually feels quite festive.

Ours go up on the 1st and the Halloween stuff gets taken out gradually from then on. So the first week of December is a bit of a Tim Burton.

Got a 7ft (real) tree for 9 euros.

One deccie gets to stay up all year, done on a rota.

😀

Ours will probably be very last minute this year - the forestry boys are working 24hrs a day in the bit where I usually nick one from, so could even be as late as Christmas Eve.

ours is usually about the 10th, i don't like it there for too long because i don't like dust, and it is difficult to dust a christmas tree.

Ours goes up the weekend before Christmas - Little Miss MCTD has a birthday on 20th December so we leave it later so she doen't lose sight of the other big day

We went to the local nursery this afternoon and she helped choose this years tree ready for collection in a fortnight

Today!!!! Going to our local grower where you turn up with your saw, pick ya tree and take it away, at a fraction of the cost of b and q and garden centre types!
Would love to roll up with a big chainsaw and take 1.8 seconds to lop a 2 footer tho!! 😆

Trees are expensive this year. 8ft nordman fur will be 65-80 quid! And thats not a garden center. Anybody know where I can get a cheaper one in Sutton Coldfield?

Gone artificial this year for the first time in years (real trees are massively expensive this year). Got it yesterday but won't be putting it up until next weekend. Down on the 2nd of Jan as well.

Went to Disney Orlando a few years ago on the 2nd of Jan, they still had the decorations up on the 16th when we flew home 😯

<shakeshead

I think you'll (yule) find CHRISTmas isn't Pagan.......

However, it is commercial rubbish.

Tree up Christmas Eve and down Boxing day. I have a fake tree I was given by a friend and I adorn it with less than a tenners worth of Tesco tat brought cheaply post Christmas a few years back.

However, I do approve that the local chavs have JUST a tree up instead of turning their nasty little dwellings into santas grotto by sticking luminous deers, santas, trains, trees etc all over their gardens.

Christmas is rubbish!

You're forced to take time off work, it's cold, the days are short and the bleeedin' shops are shut so you can't even do DIY and the like.

Bah bleedin' hum bug to you all.
