Why are these multi-millionaire venture captialists are arrogant to think they can buy anything?
Still, he is out there trying to help, so we can't be too harsh.
It's pretty offensive. Wouldn't matter how skint I was I'd never sell the kids- not for £742 anyway.
I heard an in depth interview with him on the radio today.
He admitted that he was wrong to do what he did and had figured that out within an hour or so of doing it.
In his defense, I think it's only human nature to try and help and what happened was just a gut reaction. Wrong - yes, would I give him a hard time about it - certainly not. In fact, I hope that my reaction would be one of compassion and direct action too.
The thing which I find most worrying/funny about this is the guy has £130m and he offered a grand, now I'm sure a grand goes a long way in ****stan but a grand **** off.
bargain!

I can picture the negotiatiations with his brother. It would start with him rubbing his chin and saying; "Now let me tell you where I am..."
I'm sure he'd mark the baby up by at least 1000 percent!
agreed Trailmonkey. I think the guy was probably thinking in a generous and thoughtful caring manner, just came out all wrong, media hype. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt. just some stupid tabloid shyte.
It's a wind up isn't it? I mean it doesn't sound like him, it sounds like it's been dubbed and you never actually see him say the words relating to buyuing the baby, just making a donation.
200,000 rupees for the baby? I'm sorry, I cannot see a sufficient return on my investment so I'm out.
In that moment of emotion, your immense wealth immediately takes over from any sense of human decency," he said.
It is also a problem I have.
Me too. Buying babies is such hard work these days.
Live ones, anyway!
Yes, damn him for being momentarily tempted to offer a homeless baby a chance to escape extreme poverty. 🙄
What a dick for being over there trying to help people instead of sat on his sofa at home tapping away at an internet forum like a decent human being.
offer a homeless baby a chance to escape extreme poverty.
Why didn't he just buy the parents a house? Wasn't the baby for his brother? Let's not kid ourselves.
Did someone say 'sickening inhuman predator'?
Oh, I did.
Let's just say that I can understand that, holding a delicate newborn baby and knowing she is going to have a pretty difficult life, he might wish that he could "rescue" her and place her with someone that he knows will love her and give her everything she could want.
Seems like a perfectly human urge to me.
Entirely misguided, yes obviously, but not sickening or inhuman at all.
The baby was not his to 'place'. She has parents. **** his 'urges'. He should learn some respect.
He would have only put her on e-bay LOL.. 😳
Seems to me that this was more an impulse purchase in the face of hardship, rather than the premeditated buying sprees of other high profile consumers.
Shows the true colours if you ask me. Nasty piece of work.
The blokes worth upwards of £13 million and he offers £1500. I wouldn't sell my bike for that!
I'd never sell the kids- not for £742 anyway.
😀
Amusing that Google Ads over there ---> has picked up this thread and is showing an ad for "James Caan's Total Business Mastery Seminar"
He could have a couple of mine for the price of a sandwich.
