MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
What kind of price would I expect to pay for the installation of a new TV aerial, on my roof?
We paid nearly£ 200 a few years ago for a medium gain on a 6 ft pole. Next door paid £400 last year for a higher gain, longer pole and booster.
I wouldn't pay that much tho I'd get sky I'm sure.
At the moment I'm paying Ricky Branston around £35-40 per month for broadband, landline & tv.
We don't really need a landline (barely use it), we don't watch much TV, & I'm sure I could get cheap broadband from elsewhere (Plusnet?) ... don't really care about super-fast interwebs as it's only used for internet/email/myface
I'm thinking I can save money in the long run by just having freeview & cheap broadband (I know this'll still require line rental).
[edit] ignore me
We bought a new build house in 2009 with no ariel. I just stuck a £30 maplin jobbie in the loft and have never had any issues. Others down the street seemed to go for massive external poles etc.
So, I could possibly get away with fitting one myself in the loft space?
How significantly reduced is a signal inside a loft?
(I can't get to the chimney stack to mount one outside as it's a mid-terrace so would need roof ladders etc)
Get cable or sky, there will never be many HD channels on terrestial...

pay lots of money to branston or murdoch or live with a few free hd channels,
a rough price for a 32 element aerial to 1 tv point should be inbetween £100 to £150.
and roughly £35 per point thereafter.
