From a bean to cup machine, 3 mugs? 4, 5, 6 mugs a day?

3 a day - max.

Any more than that and I get serious withdrawal symptoms.

I usually have 3 or 4 mugs during the morning, then around the same in the afternoon before then usually polishing off another 2 mugs in the evening.

That's potentially 10 mugs a day!!!

I'd imagine that I'm well over the recommended limit!!!

If I have a drink, it's usually my default choice.

I haven't worked out my consumption but it's got to be, until recently, around Amplebrew's level with proper coffee, reduced it a fair bit since stopping smoking though. never any after 7pm though unless staying up most of the night.

To find out just keep pushing the limit of your coffee drinking to the max. Probably 12 cups of small mug. Not the standard size mug which may make the coffee too diluted in taste.

I drank more than 12 (think it was either 14 or 16 ...)at one point when I got my Gaggia I did not feel weird and still sleep soundly ...

Around 6, pint sized mugs a day (often in mocha form with some hot chocolate)! But I do keep to decaf in the afternoon/evening.

Typically 4 per day here, but I stop mid afternoon to avoid trouble sleeping at night

I've had three espresso based drinks today, making six shots in total. It's about as much as I can handle to be honest.

Up to two strong large cups before midday or I struggle to sleep that night. But I make an exception for party meals were I love an espresso.

Been getting through 5 or 6 mugs lately and had trouble sleeping, up and down during the day and just sort of not quite right. If you see what I mean.
Had none at all today and the difference in the way I feel now is huge - oddly much clearer head and more awake and alert.

Used to quaff it like water, but started to notice the caffeine effect in recent years. Coincided with getting one of those bean machines for work and drinking super strong mugs - I'll now only have 2 or 3 a day. Getting old 🙁

Depends on your mug, really... my standard mid-afternoon coffee is basically running a tightrope between blacking out at my desk on the one hand, and cardiac ahrythmia on the other. Big mug, smaller yet still big spoon.

I love my coffee but life is better when I drink tea.

Prompted by the hangover from hell a couple of weeks back, when I just couldn't stomach coffee, I've gone from 5 big mugs of strong black coffee a day, to just one to start the day, followed by decaff tea for the rest of the day. Never thought I'd do it, or even wanted to, but it's been pretty easy. I think I had a bit of a headache the first day, nothing since. I wasn't much of a tea drinker before, so decaff tea doesn't taste bad to me.
Not sure I feel much in the way of physical benefit - although oddly I think I feel less tired in the afternoon though. Maybe things have just levelled out instead of peaks and troughs of stimulant/tiredness.

Just serviced my gaggia today, new seals tubes and a good old clean.
Drinking my 4th expresso of the day - will let you know tomorrow if the last one was a good idea.
