Did it eat any or just kill them, as foxes often do?

I once ate a whole multi-pack, though I didn't feel well afterwards.

misread that as eight hundred penguins...that would have been tough to beat. But a 6-pack is just an afternoon snack, I'm sure I could do 8. Used to do a pack of chocolate digestives in a day easily enough (when I was bored and lonely in an awful job, luckily only lasted a few months).

I bet you're not in the UK then, a pack of timtams seems to be 8 quid at the least.
EDIT : 13 on amazon now

I presume the penguins didn't know how to behave around foxes?

Kick them in the face.

It's a recognised training method to improve their attitude.

I know this is probably classed as treason in post-referendum Britain, but Penguins are an inferior product to Tim Tams, there, I said it.

I bet they squawked around, flapping, and getting the poor fox all worked up to a point where he had to eat them just to calm them down.

I wonder why they don't break into the tiger enclosure. Much be loads more meat on a tiger?

It depends if you're eating the Oz market ones or the Asian market ones.

There was a difference (don't know if there still is) in that the Asian market TimTams (I think made in Indonesia) had plenty palm oil in them and definitely didn't taste as good.

We kept our TimTams in the freezer for optimum taste. (It is hot in Far North Queensland)

It was the first time the fox had ever done something like this, he's normally so good around penguins.

If the penguins had been badgers the result would have been differnt.

I have killed and eaten some of a Emperor penguin. Disappointingly easy to kill: just walk up to it, pick it up, then hit it on the head.

Why pick it up then hit it? Not like it's running away post bludgeoning is it?

Adelie intake can be part of a balanced diet

Not the fox's fault as the penguins weren't wearing high Viz or helmets.

It's the penguins' fault - clearly not 'fox people'

Perchy

Isn't that the Falklands? Remember reading about how penguin numbers have exploded due the the 'firewall' and lack of predation

Yep. I have one of those Danger Mines signs on the wall of my office at home. Was brought back as a souvinir by my mate who was working in Port Stanley for a year.

Of all the signs to nick, that could have some serious consequences...

It was an old, weathered one which had been removed by the Facilities Maintenance contractor (which is who my mate was working for) and replaced with a shiny new one, the better to protect the cuddly little fellas.......and the penguins.

Oh well done. I just kept on running into slightly unpleasant Adele jokes.
