I surprised myself by winning a plank competition today, without any practise or buildup getting to nearly 4 mins before the other guy gave up complaining of back pain. 4 mins is pretty good... for the other guy, my son, 7yo!

So, can you beat a 7 year old?

Yep. Blew in her face until she collapsed with the giggles. Only took me about 30 seconds.

4 mins is just getting started! My nephew (funnily enough, also 7 at the time) was boasting that he can hold a plank for longer than his Dad while we were camping last year. I asked him how long he managed and he said 10 mins.
I bet him 50p that he wouldn't manage 10 mins.....and he only bloody did it! He was pretty wobbly towards the end but it seemed churlish to call him out on his form....!

I didn't realise but when he finished, he snuck back to his tent and was in tears because it hurt so much! He's a stubborn sod...! Endeed up giving him 60p I was so impressed.

I reckon I can do about 3 mins if I really had to.....

He's not worng - if you're comfy after a minute, change the leverage & work on your extended plank. When you can do that so you're barely off the ground it's time for Lalanne press-ups:

I quite like plank pyramids.. I got up to a coupla minutes at one point.. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

My lil bro was a dab hand at planche push ups when he was a teenager, but then cider and darts took over and he's knackered sitting in an armchair these days

I get up to 2 mins, whereas the missus will do 10.

She holds the record at our local circuit class for it.

Well, that's just had me laying on the floor like a fish for a couple of minutes

I find the biggest problem is the mindtalk - it's so boring I brain says stop!

(even after 30 seconds!)

People have been calling me a plank since about 1982. You do the math.

I thought planking was all about where you do it - not for how long.

I love to plank in the shower, also before I go to bed (I seem to sleep well afterwards)... Somethines I plank in public but it feels a bit wrong.... ๐Ÿ˜€
